5-Star Center Caleb Swanigan Announces He'll Attend Michigan State This Fall

Life has been good for Michigan State basketball fans of late, as the Spartans, a 7-seed in this past year's NCAA Tournament, advanced all the way to the Final Four in 2015. Friday night, it got just a little bit better.

Five-star center Caleb Swanigan surprised the college basketball world by picking to play his collegiate ball at Michigan State next fall. Swanigan, who stands at 6-foot-8, 275 pounds, hails from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Swanigan chose MSU over Cal, Purdue, Kentucky, Duke and Arizona. He mentioned on Twitter that his high school, Homestead, also features the Spartans mascot.

Needless to say, this is a huge get for Tom Izzo & Co. Swanigan joins three other 2015 recruits - five-star Deyonta Davis, four-star Matt McQuaid and four-star Kyle Ahrens - in East Lansing.
