Denzel Valentine Injures His Ankle In First NBA Preseason Game

Denzel Valentine's rookie season is underway.

Denzel Valentine, a Chicago Bulls' first-round pick out of Michigan State, played in his first NBA preseason game on Monday night. He left the game with an injury.

The talented former Spartans' guard suffered a left ankle sprain during Chicago's 93-91 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Valentine, unsurprisingly, was disappointed.

He thinks he'll be back fairly soon, though.

Valentine saw 11 minutes of action before getting hurt. He totaled 4 points on 2 of 5 shooting while tossing two assists and grabbing one rebound. He looked good.

The Bulls next face the Indianapolis Pacers on Thursday.

Chicago opens its regular season on Thursday, Oct. 27 against Boston.
