Before an awesome weekend of college hoops arrives, the Big Ten will feature an intriguing matchup tonight between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Michigan State Spartans.

The Spartans have lost just two games this season to Louisville and Kansas, meanwhile the Cornhuskers have already lost four contests.

Nebraska is fortunate to have home-court advantage in this matchup. The Cornhuskers have won 20 consecutive games at home, but defeating the Spartans won't be an easy task.

However, the Cornhuskers are coming off an impressive win against Indiana on the road. Perhaps that momentum will carry into tonight's showdown with an elite program.

One of the biggest factors in this game will be how Nebraska defends Michigan State's star players.

Several teams have struggled to contain Cassius Winston, Nick Ward and Joshua Langford, as the three players combine to average 49.2 points per game. Langford is currently sidelined with an injury, though Winston and Ward should provide for a tough test for Nebraska's defense.

The Cornhuskers might have the talent to keep pace with the Spartans, but they'll definitely be underdogs tonight.

According to ESPN's matchup predictor, Michigan State has a 53.3 percent chance of winning the game.

An upset victory for the Cornhuskers would most likely catapult them into the top 25 polls. In addition, it would drastically help them in the conference standings.
