Former Michigan State guard Keith Appling was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, according to the Associated Press.
According to the AP, Appling was the passenger in a speeding Dodge Charger that was stopped early Saturday morning. As officers approached the vehicle, they allegedly saw Appling place a weapon under his seat.
This is the second weapons arrest for Appling in the past two months. In early May, he was arrested at a Dearborn, Mich. strip club with a loaded AK-47. He is scheduled to have a hearing Friday on the charges stemming from that arrest.
The 24-year-old Appling went undrafted out of Michigan State in 2014 and has had stints in the NBA D-League with the Los Angeles D-Fenders and Erie BayHawks.
He appeared in five games for the NBA’s Orlando Magic this season, averaging 1.2 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.2 assists per contest.
