Before Tom Izzo took control of the Michigan State men's basketball program, there was Jud Heathcote. The 87-year-old coached the Spartans from 1976-95 after leading Montana from 1971-76. Heathcote is most famous for coaching Magic Johnson for two seasons, including the 1979 national championship season.

Today, Heathcote appeared on "The Drive with Jack Ebling", a weekday radio show in East Lansing, Mich. He had a lot to say.
