Former Nebraska Star On Player Transferring: “Doesn’t Get What It Takes To Be A Blackshirt"

Kevin Williams battled through injuries to play in 23 games for Nebraska from 2011-2015. Next year, the sixth-year senior will use his final season of eligibility at Michigan State.

Last night, former Nebraska star Adam Carriker took a swipe at Williams for his decision to leave, saying the Ohio native "doesn't get what it takes to be a Blackshirt," Nebraska's famous nickname for its defensive unit.

On the surface, this seems a bit unfair on Carriker's part. Williams' career at Nebraska was greatly hampered by injuries, and if he wants a fresh start in his final season, that's his choice to make.

As it stands, the Huskers and Spartans won't meet as Big Ten crossover opponents this season, so the only way Williams could face his former team is if both teams make the conference title game.
