Founders Brewing Company in Grand Rapids, Mich. released a beer honoring former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler.
Founders Brewing Company, a brewery in Grand Rapids, Mich. has released a new brew in honor of fallen Michigan State punter Mike Sadler according to mlive.com.
The new brew, named "Sadler's Run Apricot Wheat," is available in the Grand Rapids taproom only.
"Brewed as a tribute to former MSU punter Mike Sadler," a Facebook post reads, "Azacca hops added in the boil give a smooth yet tangy kick to this rich American wheat ale, and a touch of crystal malt makes for a full copper ale."
Sadler, a Grand Rapids native, was killed in a car crash last July while returning home from a kicking camp in Wisconsin. Police say Sadler lost control of the car on wet pavement. Nebraska punter Sam Foltz also died in the crash, and LSU kicker Colby Delahoussaye was transported to the hospital with injuries.
Sadler was a four-year starter for the Spartans from 2011-2014.
