Jay Bilas Says Michigan State Should Be A No. 1 Seed

The four No. 1 seeds for this year's NCAA Tournament seem pretty well set. They will be Virginia, Villanova, Kansas and Xavier.

However, ESPN's Jay Bilas thinks there is another team worthy of a top seed. He likes Michigan State.

The Spartans went 28-3 in the regular season and won the Big Ten regular season title. However, they lost to Michigan in the conference tournament semifinals.

Despite that loss, the Spartans have more wins than Xavier and Kansas and were ranked fourth in the country in the last AP Poll. They are being projected as a No. 3 seed.

Bilas thinks they should be a No. 1.

A No. 1 seed might be high for Michigan State, but it is tough for us to see them not at least as a No. 2. However, Purdue seems to be the Big Ten team destined for a two-seed.

We'll find out in a few hours.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Show will begin at 6 p.m. E.T. It’s being televised on TBS this year.
