Michigan State DL Malik McDowell Possibly Out For Ohio State Game

Michigan State's Malik McDowell was not listed on the depth chart for Saturday's game against Ohio State.

Michigan State defensive lineman Malik McDowell missed last week's contest against Rutgers with an ankle injury, and it appears as though he might not play this weekend against Ohio State. McDowell wasn't listed on the depth chart when it was released Tuesday morning.

Mark Dantonio said today that he's not listed on the depth chart because he's unsure of his status for Saturday.

It's another potential blow to what has been a disastrous season for the Spartans as they currently sit at 3-7 on the year, but it's certainly worse news for McDowell, who could see his draft stock fall due to injury concerns. Let's hope it's nothing too serious.

The 6-foot-6 junior has recorded 34 tackles and 1.5 sacks on the season, per ESPN.

CBSSports currently has McDowell projected as the No. 10 selection in the 2017 NFL draft, assuming he chooses to declare.

The Spartans defensive line will potentially consist entirely of underclassmen versus Ohio State. Freshman Josh King and sophomore Robert Bowers are set to start at DE, while redshirt freshman Raequan Williams and freshman Mike Panasiuk will line up at the DT positions.
