Mark Dantonio On Proposed NCAA Ban Of Satellite Camps: "I Guess Abuse Brings Control"

The Big Ten was the only major conference to vote against banning satellite camps. In fact, it is one of very few issues in which Mark Dantonio, Jim Harbaugh, and Urban Meyer all agree. Dantonio was for the camps, which Michigan State took part in, but in discussing the NCAA's proposal with 92.1 FM's The Team today, he wasn't afraid to fire a subtle shot in the direction of Harbaugh.

MLivehas more from Dantonio on the issue:

"One of the things is, it takes away opportunities from young people going to a particular camp," Dantonio said. "At Michigan State (summer) camp, we may have 30 colleges here working the camp."

Not all the campers are recruited by the Spartans, but coaches from smaller and lower division schools get exposure to student athletes they might not ordinarily see.

"That's one of the things that's taken the hit on this," Dantonio said. "I guess abuse brings control."

As Joe Rexrode goes on to tweet, we haven't had a good Harbaugh subtweet in a few weeks.
