Michigan State F Nick Ward: "We're Gonna Hurt Some Teams" Next Year

Michigan State basketball fans are understandably excited for next season.

With the news that star forward Miles Bridges is coming back for his sophomore season, Michigan State immediately becomes one of the favorites to win next year's NCAA Tournament.

Besides Bridges, one of the Spartans' most impressive players this past season was another freshman, Nick Ward. The powerful lefty averaged 13.9 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Ward is apparently feeling quite confident about how next year will go. He told MLive's Brendan Quinn that MSU will be a physical team opponents might not want to mess with.

"We'll be scary," Ward said. "We'll be big. We'll be a big team next year. We were pretty undersized this year, due to injuries, but I feel like we'll be a big team next year.

"We're gonna hurt some teams."

Ward has a point. The Spartans return five of their top seven scorers, and also will welcome two highly-touted power forwards to campus this fall.

Scary, indeed.
