Michigan State basketball has had a rough start to the 2016-17 season.
It just got rougher. MSU head coach Tom Izzo announced today that standout freshman forward Miles Bridges will miss some time with an ankle injury.
According to media on-hand, Izzo said Bridges' ankle began bothering him after Michigan State's loss at Duke on Tuesday.
Michigan State is already without big men Gavin Schilling and Ben Carter, who sustained injuries in the preseason. Now, the already young Spartans (4-4) will have to play on for a bit without their top scorer.
Bridges, a smooth, freakishly athletic lefty, leads MSU in points (16.6) and rebounds (8.8) per game.
