Michigan State Just Had The Worst Passing Play Of 2018

Michigan State's offense was impotent for most of 2018, ruining what was potentially a College Football Playoff-caliber defense. The Spartans managed to sneak one more 'highlight' in today before the new year.

Facing 3rd-and-6 on the Oregon 20 in the Redbox Bowl, Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke dropped the shotgun snap, fumbled and kicked it around a bit and then finally scooped it up with a defender bearing down on him.

At this point, Lewerke was a good 15 or so yards behind the line of scrimmage, and in a dire situation.

He then did this.

Poor Lewerke. This INT is up there with another brutal one by a fellow Big Ten program for the worst of 2018.

Fortunately for the Spartans, there hasn't been much offense at all in this Redbox Bowl. Michigan State and Oregon are tied at 0 midway through the second quarter.
