Michigan State linebacker Ed Davis, who has missed this entire season after suffering a knee injury in training camp, is aiming to return to the Spartans in 2016. Davis will apply for a sixth year of eligibility, head coach Mark Dantonio revealed to the media today.
This is good news for MSU, provided the NCAA grants him the additional season. Davis started 12 games for the Green and White in 2014, amassing 58 tackles.
Additionally, Dantonio stated that offensive lineman Brandon Clemons and defensive tackle Damon Knox will also apply for a sixth year. Both have been key contributors this season but have battled injuries throughout their careers in East Lansing.
