Former Michigan State linebacker Mylan Hicks was killed outside of a nightclub in Calgary just a few weeks ago. The 23-year-old was a member of the Calgary Stampeders, a team in the Canadian Football League.
In the past few weeks, Michigan State showed its support for the Hicks family and honored the former Spartan with a touching tribute video. Current Michigan State players donned black No. 6 shirts to honor Hicks in the game against Indiana.
Michigan State now plans to honor Hicks by putting his No. 6 at midfield in Spartan Stadium for the Spartan's game against BYU this weekend.
This has been a tough year for the Spartans, who also lost former kicker Mike Sadler due to a car crash this summer. Michigan State paid tribute to Sadler as well and put his No. 3 at midfield.
Michigan State and BYU kickoff from Spartan Stadium at 3:30 p.m. E.T. on Saturday.
