Michigan State Wins On The Road Against Nebraska

Battling it out.

Score: No. 8 Michigan State 73, Nebraska 64

Star(s):Michigan State:Adreian Payne 15 Pts, 14 Reb. Nebraska:Shavon Shields 19 Pts, 13 Reb.

Story: It was all Michigan State throughout the game at Nebraska's Bob Devaney Sports Center as the Spartans pulled out a victory over the Cornhuskers. After coming off a big win at home against Michigan, the Spartans seemed sluggish during the first half. Leading by five points at the break, Michigan State struggled with turnovers, something that the Spartans had previously been improving on.

The Cornhuskers came in strong at the start of the second half and were able to cut the lead down to one. Keith Appling kept his team going, as they responded with a 20-6 run that ultimately proved to be too much for Nebraska to overcome.

Continuing to make tremendous improvement was Denzel Valentine, who had seven rebounds. Also contributing to the Spartans win were Derrick Nix and Adreian Payne who both closed out the game double-doubles.

The Spartans will take on the Hoosiers this Tuesday, who are both tied (11-2) in conference play.
