This evening, Michigan State University will hold a public memorial service for Lacey Holsworth, the eight-year-old girl who captured the hearts of everyone she touched before losing her battle with cancer April 9.
Lacey, who became close to Spartan star Adreian Payne, has had a clear effect on those in East Lansing. The night of her death, Michigan State students painted and signed a rock in her memory. Spartan men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo gave a speech, saying he’s “never been more proud” of his school.
Tonight, the Breslin Center will be packed with thousands of people wanting to honor Lacey one more time.

Nearly 1,000 chairs on the floor of Breslin. First four rows reserved for family, MSU, Sparrow folks, etc. The rest are open to public.
