Reports: Official, Not Clock Operator, Responsible For Timing Error In Michigan State Win

Michigan State wins after controversial clock work.

The timing error at the end of the Michigan State-Florida Gulf Coast game may not have been the fault of the clock operator at the Breslin Center.

The mistake occurred on the final play of the game when the clock accidentally started before the ball was touched on FGCU's full-court inbounds pass. The mishap caused FGCU's Antravious Simmons to rush and miss his shot.

Now, according to multiple reports, it was actually one of the game officials who did not start the clock properly, as opposed to the official timer at the scorer's table.

Hopefully this issue won't happen again anywhere this season.
