Talen Horton-Tucker, a top small forward out of Chicago, picked up a huge scholarship offer from Michigan State on Monday.
Horton-Tucker, a star for basketball power Simeon Career Academy, is the No. 228 player in the class of 2018.
247Sports ranks him as the No. 4 player in Illinois, and No. 56 among small forwards in the class.
He had some solid offers already, including those from a number of local programs and Big Ten teams, but he got one from a power on Monday: Michigan State.
Horton-Tucker announced it via Twitter.
Before the MSU offer, the early predictions on the 247 crystal ball had a split between Illinois and Northwestern.
Since Monday, four new predictions have come in, all for Michigan State.
He also holds offers from DePaul, Florida State, Iowa State, Missouri, Ohio State, Purdue, Xavier, and others.
Horton-Tucker has plenty of time to collect more offers and make a choice, but Michigan State, which is led by one of the nation's best coaches in Tom Izzo and has upped its recruiting game as of late, could be tough to beat.
