Tom Izzo On Michigan State One Day Winning Both FB/BB National Titles, "Watch Out, It Might Happen"

Is there a college athletic program that currently boasts a better football-men's basketball combination than Michigan State?

Probably not.

The Spartans' men's basketball team, of course, is set to play in the Final Four this weekend. The football team, meanwhile, has won 24 games over the last two seasons and is a likely contender for the College Football Playoff in 2015. Tom Izzo and Mark Dantonio, the leaders of the two teams, probably form the best coaching duo of any university.

Could Michigan State one day win a national championship in both football and men's basketball in the same season? Izzo thinks it's a serious possibility.

Michigan State is a heavy underdog to win two games at the Final Four this weekend, but it's obviously possible the Spartans could take home the title. If they do, the football team is 14 or 15 wins away from making Izzo's dream a reality.

The last college athletic program to hold both titles at the same time was Florida in 2007.
