Earlier: For over two years, Erik Swenson has been a member of Michigan’s 2016 recruiting class, but that designation ended today. On Twitter, the Downers Grove, Ill. native posted the surprising announcement, citing “unforeseen circumstances” as the reason that he is reopening his recruitment two weeks before National Signing Day.

Swenson, a four-star recruit and the No. 31 offensive tackle in the country according to 247Sports. He originally committed to Brady Hoke on November 25, 2013, and also holds offers from Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and others.
