AJ Henning, one of the top wide receivers in the 2020 class, has been visiting some of the top schools in the country over the past few weeks. But after months of travelling, he's made his decision.
Taking to Twitter on Wednesday, Henning announced that he would be committing to the University of Michigan. The announcement comes just a few days after he visited Michigan for their big recruiting weekend.
I’m coming home... 100% C O M M I T T E D
247Sports rates Henning as the No. 80 overall prospect in the country. He is the No. 16 wide receiver in the nation, and the No. 1 prospect from the state of Illinois.
In the weeks and months prior, Henning had made visits to Penn State, Notre Dame, Georgia, Alabama, FSU, and Florida.
Landing Henning is huge for Michigan, who is now the highest-rated player in the Wolverines' 2020 recruiting class, per 247Sports.
The class is currently ranked No. 9 in the country and No. 2 in the Big Ten Conference with 17 commitments - seven of which are four-star recruits.
While the rest of the 2020 recruiting class will likely be polished off in the months to come, it's hard to imagine the Wolverines getting too many players rated higher than Henning.
He's a solid catch for sure (no pun intended).
