One of the top defensive recruits in the 2020 class will soon be announcing his commitment, as he's set a decision date and shut down his recruitment.

Braiden McGregor, the No. 5 defensive end in the 2020 class per 247Sports' Composite Rankings, announced the major news on Twitter this afternoon.

The four-star defensive lineman will be announcing his decision on Friday at 7 p.m.

"I will be shutting down my recruitment until then to focus on my decision with my family," he announced.

McGregor, a Michigan native, is ranked the No. 87 player in the 2020 class by 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Notre Dame, Michigan and Clemson are viewed as his top contenders, with the Wolverines getting the majority of the Crystal Ball projections.

Stay tuned for a decision.
