Charles Woodson will be back in Ann Arbor this spring for a very special reason.
Earlier today, Michigan announced that the former Wolverine football star will serve as the school's spring commencement speaker this year. The accomplishment comes 20 years after Woodson left Michigan to pursue a Hall of Fame NFL career.
The 2018 Michigan spring commencement will be held on April 28 at Michigan Stadium.
The 1997 Heisman Trophy Winner, Woodson helped lead the Maize and Blue to its last national title during the 1997 season. Woodson helped Michigan win the championship by defeating Washington State in the Rose Bowl.
Last year, Woodson was one of 20 recent UM alumni to earn a Bicentennial Alumni Award in celebration of the university's 200th year.
As an analyst for ESPN, Woodson is used to speaking in public. As a former star at Michigan, he should have no problem performing on stage at the Big House.
Therefore, he should kill it as a commencement speaker.
