Desmond Howard On Michigan State: "They're Not A National Brand"

Desmond Howard gives his take on ESPN.

Desmond Howard ticked off Michigan State fans Saturday morning.

Desmond Howard starred at Michigan and won a Heisman Trophy for the Wolverines, so it doesn't come as a surprise that Michigan State fans aren't that fond of him. But his comments made Saturday morning ahead of the all-important in-state matchup have Spartans supporters pretty ticked regardless.

Saturday morning, at College GameDay from TCU, Howard suggested that the Michigan vs. Michigan State rivalry game isn't as big for the Wolverines because the Spartans aren't a "national" brand.

He cited Ohio State and Notre Dame as being national brands - and therefore bigger games. Obviously, that hasn't sat well with MSU supporters.

Michigan State and its fans would love nothing more than a big upset win in Ann Arbor tonight. Howard wouldn't hear the end of it.
