DL Rashad Weaver De-Commits From Michigan, Says Jim Harbaugh And Staff Stopped Contacting Him

Jim Harbaugh head coach of the Michigan Wolverines shouts during the game against the Penn State Nittany Lions.

Michigan picked up a commitment from three-star defensive lineman and former PSU commit Michael Dwumfour earlier today. Tonight, the Wolverines lost a pledge from three-star Florida defensive lineman Rashad Weaver, but Weaver's explanation for his decision is what will garner the most attention.

In a message on Twitter, Weaver said he chose to de-commit after the Michigan staff basically stopped speaking to him for seven months. Head coach Jim Harbaugh informed him there was only a 50/50 chance he'd be able to sign with the Wolverines next week, and offered him the option of accepting a preferred walk-on opportunity or going to prep school.

If Weaver's story is accurate, this isn't a good look for Michigan. The Wolverines may ultimately land the nation's top recruit, defensive tackle Rashan Gary, next week, but Harbaugh's going to take some heat over this.
