The Wolverines coach, who has never defeated the Buckeyes, might regret what he said. “We’re going to do it or die trying,” he said of beating Ohio State, per Buckeyes insider Jeremy Birmingham.
Of course, fans all started making variations of the same joke following Harbaugh’s comments. Most of the jokes had something to do with fans hoping he has a will in place, just in case.
Others mockingly said, “rest in peace” to the entire Wolverines football team in anticipation of an Ohio State win this season.
Here’s some of the reaction from around social media.

Other fans decided to send a message to Harbaugh himself, wishing that the Wolverines don’t actually die.
Check it out.
I would really prefer that Michigan's players not die, Jim. https://t.co/gN3XzkDnGl

In recent years, Ohio State has dominated the so-called rivalry.
The closest matchup between the two teams came in a thrilling 30-27 double-overtime loss where the No. 3 Wolverines fell to the No. 2 Buckeyes in 2016.
And yet, the Buckeyes have come up with some of their most lopsided wins in the last few years. Ohio State has won the last two meetings between the two teams by at least 23 points, with a dominant 29-point win in their last meeting.
Will Harbaugh and company ever defeat Ohio State?
