Erik Swenson, a four-star offensive tackle in the 2016 class, had his scholarship offer pulled from Michigan. The 6-foot-7, 285-pound prospect out of Illinois had been committed to the Wolverines since 2013.
Michigan reportedly called him, cancelled his official visit and pulled his scholarship offer without a reason. This comes with National Signing Day just two weeks away.
Swenson has talked to multiple reporters, revealing details of what happened. He says he has tried to speak to Jim Harbaugh but hasn’t been able to.
2016 OT Erik Swenson: “Harbaugh didn’t talk to me. I asked for him, but never came in contact. Drevno called me a week ago.”

I talked to Erik Swenson today about his scholarship being waived by Harbaugh recently. Take it as you see fit. pic.twitter.com/tuTLFJM0fR

This, unfortunately, is not a rarity in the world of college football recruiting. It’s still a bad look for Harbaugh and Michigan.
