If true, this changes a lot.

Jim Harbaugh has been at Michigan three seasons. He's never coached anywhere longer than four seasons.

Along with his program's perceived underachieving, Harbaugh's wanderlust fuels speculation that he might not stay at his alma mater for a long time. However, a new report contradicts that conjecture in a big way.

FOX's Brady Quinn told Jonas Knox that he has heard Michigan is working on a lifetime deal with Harbaugh, though Quinn said his source was mum on the structure of that potential contract.

Assuming this is true, the details of the pact would be fascinating. Would Harbaugh have a head coach in waiting? What would his salary scale look like, considering coaching salaries have been rising tremendously?

These are just some of the things to consider. Again, this is just talk right now, but it is something to keep an eye on.
