While the first round of the NCAA Tournament resumes today, we already have a few matchups set for this weekend. One of the showdowns that will take place on Saturday is between Florida and Michigan.
Florida is coming off an upset victory over Nevada and is finally playing its best basketball of the season. Kevvarius Hayes and Jalen Hudson were outstanding for the Gators in the closing minutes of the second half.
Michigan flexed its muscles over Montana for the second-straight tournament, as Charles Matthews led the team in scoring with 22 points. With Ignas Brazdeikis and Jon Teske bound for a big game this March, the Wolverines could make another run this postseason.
However, John Beilein first needs to prepare his crew for a tough matchup against Florida in the Round of 32.
Although the Wolverines have the better roster and seeding in their region, the initial betting line isn't too much in their favor.
Current odds give Michigan a 7-point edge over Florida.
The Gators might be underdogs for this contest, but the experience on their roster will play a significant factor. KeVaughn Allen wasn't great in the opening round, yet fans can expect him to rebound nicely this weekend.
The NCAA Tournament is famous for its unbelievable upsets, and Florida knocking out Michigan would certainly fit in that department.
Winner of this game would punch their ticket into the Sweet 16.
