ESPN has Peppers ranked as the No. 8 player in the country heading into the 2016 season.
Peppers only appeared in three games and had just one start as a true freshman. He was redshirted for most of his freshman season after being injured in his start against. Appalachian State.
The linebacker proved himself to be a chameleon of a player last year, excelling on offense, defense and special teams. Accordingly, he received numerous accolades following the 2015 season, including his selection for the All-Big Ten defensive first-team, the All-Big Ten special teams second-team and a second-team All-American by CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated.
Michigan opens its season Sept. 3 against Hawaii.
