On Saturday night, the Penn State Nittany Lions held on to defeat the Michigan Wolverines in a highly-anticipated Big Ten showdown.

Penn State entered the night as a nine-point favorite, but the Wolverines proved to be a more difficult test than Vegas thought.

After opening a 21-0 lead, the Nittany Lions looked sluggish in the second half as Michigan battled back.

Late in the fourth quarter, the Wolverines had a shot to tie the game at 28. Quarterback Shea Patterson threw a short pass to wide receiver Ronnie Bell, but the ball went right through his hands.

Watching from the sideline, head coach Jim Harbaugh though Bell initially caught the ball and started celebrating. However, he immediately saw the drop and his emotions changed to despair.

Here's video of his reaction to the play.

It's a heartbreaking loss for Harbaugh and the Wolverines, who looked like the better team through much of the game.

Turnovers and chunk plays went Penn State's way on Saturday night and, so too, did the game.

The Nittany Lions survived a major upset bid, but now have to refocus for a game against Michigan State next weekend. Meanwhile, Michigan heads back home for a game against Notre Dame.
