The Michigan Wolverines basketball program hired former Fab Five member Juwan Howard as its head coach this week, and most associated with the school are happy with the hire. That apparently includes head football coach Jim Harbaugh.
Harbaugh took to Twitter on Friday to congratulate both Howard and Michigan supporters. He’s happy that the school has another former Michigan star coaching one of its biggest sports programs.
Harbaugh, of course, played for Michigan too. The school’s two biggest sports programs are now coached by former players.
Here’s Harbaugh’s tweet:
Congrats to Coach Howard & us! Happy to see a Michigan Man coaching the Michigan Basketball Team! https://t.co/SXZ4TZRQlw

Howard played for Michigan from 1991-1994 and wound up going No. 5 overall to the Washington Bullets in the 1994 NBA Draft. He played in the league until 2013, afterwards becoming an assistant with the Miami Heat.
The head coaching job at Michigan will be his first.
Both programs will have high expectations in 2019.
