Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is making additions to his staff in preparations for the upcoming Peach Bowl, and his latest hire has plenty of coaching experience.
According to WolverinesWire, Harbaugh is adding former Central Michigan head coach John Bonamego as a consultant for the upcoming game against Florida.
Bonamego led the Chippewas to three straight bowl games from 2015 to 2017, but a 1-11 record in 2018 led to his dismissal at season's end.
In his four seasons at Central Michigan, Bonamego went 22-29.
Ironically, the position that Bonamego was fired from at Central Michigan was filled by another member of Harbaugh's staff - now-former WRs coach Jim McElwain.
Prior to his stint at Central Michigan, Bonamego served as special teams coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, Miami Dolphins, and Detroit Lions over a 15-year period.
One can imagine that Bonamego might be assigned to "consult" with Michigan ST coordinators Chris Partridge and Jay Harbaugh.
