New Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has developed a reputation as a no-nonsense leader at previous coaching stops with Stanford University, San Jose State and the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers. According to his 25-year-old son Jay, who was recently hired by his father to be UM’s tight ends coach and assistant special teams coach, the elder Harbaugh’s get-it-done mentality goes beyond the gridiron and extends to the kitchen table.
In an interview with the Michigan Athletics website, Jay Harbaugh recalled the time his father came up with an interesting milk substitute to pair with cereal. The clip begins around the 2:10 mark.
For those who can’t view the video, here is the full quote from Jay:
“This one time I was a kid, we didn’t have any milk for cereal. He put Gatorade in the cereal instead of milk. It was the weirdest thing I ever saw. I didn’t try it. For good reason. That’s not where Gatorade goes.”
