Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic four-star safety Jordan Morant just became the third player to commit to Michigan today following a major recruiting weekend.
Morant is a coup for the Wolverines, who landed his services over Big Ten rivals Ohio State and Penn State, as well as various other national programs. The 5-foot-11, 212-pound standout is the son of former Syracuse and Oakland Raiders wide receiver Johnnie Morant.
The younger Morant is the No. 5 player in the state of New Jersey and the No. 10 safety in the 2020 recruiting class, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.
He is ranked 160th overall in the country.
Morant is the second-highest rated commit for Michigan in the 2020 cycle. Only four-star defensive end Braiden McGregor (No. 81 overall) is ranked higher.
With Morant in the fold, Michigan bumps up to No. 15 in the 247Sports Team Composite Recruiting Rankings, and the Wolverines now have the second-best class in the Big Ten.
Michigan has picked up commitments from Morant, three-star athlete William Mohan and three-star defensive end Aaron Lewis today. We'll see if more are on the way.
