While college football is already four weeks into the season, college basketball is slowly creeping back into the picture. With preseason practices starting up this week, Michigan coach Juwan Howard went on social media to share his thoughts.
The Wolverines were dealt unfortunate news earlier in the year when John Beilein signed a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. It's not an easy task to replace a coach that has taken the program to the Final Four multiple times.
Michigan decided to hire former basketball star Howard as its head coach. This move sat well with fans in Ann Arbor since the two sides had an established relationship.
Howard went on Twitter to share a message before the first practice of the preseason, saying "Today is a day I have been waiting for since I returned to Ann Arbor. It’s the start of an amazing journey and I cannot wait to see where it goes!"
Replacing Beilein will be extremely tough for the Wolverines, but Howard is embracing the challenge.
Zavier Simpson and John Teske are back for their senior seasons at Michigan. The program also added talented freshman in Franz Wagner and Cole Bajema.
Michigan first real test of the season will happen on Nov. 12 when it faces off against Creighton.
