It is always good for Michigan to land a quality local player. It is even better when that player was being pursued by Michigan State.

Three-star offensive tackle Karsen Barnhart of Paw Paw (Mich.) announced his commitment to the Wolverines this afternoon. Barnhart picked UM over Michigan State, Indiana and others.

He is the No. 12 rising senior in the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports' Composite Rankings.

Barnhart revealed his decision on Twitter, tweeting that he's "coming home."

Barnhart is Michigan's first in-state commit for 2019. He is the Wolverines' 10th verbal overall.
