Regardless of all the drama surrounding his family, LaMelo Ball is undoubtedly one of the premier high school prospects of his class. While the young guard hasn't come close to making any decision on his future yet, basketball fans went into a frenzy over his recent trip to Ann Arbor.

The Michigan Wolverines hosted the Western Michigan Broncos over the weekend, as Ball was in attendance with several members from SPIRE Academy. Well, it turns out that John Beilein and his coaching staff weren't actually visiting with the talented guard, but one of his teammates instead.

According to reports, the Wolverines are recruiting 2020 prospect Isaiah Jackson, who plays alongside Ball.

This doesn't mean that Ball won't be recruited by the Wolverines in the future, but it does rule out the idea of him taking visits at this moment. Besides, he already mentioned his desire to play for Duke or Kentucky, not Michigan.

As for Jackson, he's listed as the No. 17 prospect in his class, per 247Sports.

It should be an intriguing few months for Ball, who will eventually have to decide on where he'll play college hoops, if he's made eligible by the NCAA.

Stay tuned.
