LeBron James and Dwyane Wade played with Juwan Howard in Miami and were there during his first season as an assistant coach as well. They are close with the former star big man.
In recent days, Howard has been named as one of the top candidates for the head coaching position at his alma mater, Michigan. He reportedly interviewed for the job yesterday, and also picked up major public endorsements from James and Wade.
It started when Wade saw a tweet from Bleacher Report citing a Miami Heat blog report that Howard is expected to be the new Michigan coach. That report was a little premature, but the possibility of his old teammate getting the job certainly excited Wade.
“Talk to me nice. Say it is so!!!? My guy deserves this opportunity. This will only be right,” he wrote.

A short time later, LeBron piggybacked off Wade’s tweet and offered his own support for Howard.
“Man WHAT!!!!?? Absolutely the right choice and i hope it becomes a done deal ASAP!! One of my favorite people I’ve ever met at the age of 16 and been around since then,” James wrote in response to Wade’s tweet.

Having LeBron and D-Wade cosign you certainly won’t hurt Howard’s candidacy.
We’ll see if the former Fab Five member is hired in the next few days.
