Max Wittwer was set to play for Air Force, but instead, he is going to walk on at Michigan.
Back in December, Max Wittwer committed to Air Force. He was not a huge recruit, but he does hold FBS scholarship offers.
Wittwer is a Utica, Michigan native. 247Sports ranks him No. 3231 overall in the country.
The site has him No. 89 among dual-threat quarterbacks. He is the 68th-ranked player in Michigan.
Wittwer also holds a scholarship offer from Eastern Michigan. He’ll be paying his own way for school, though.
Wittwer has flipped from Air Force to the Wolverines. He will be a preferred walk-on for Jim Harbaugh’s program.
He joins a Wolverines program that adds high-profile Ole Miss transfer Shea Patterson. Michigan also has two scholarship quarterbacks committed to the class of 2018.
Four-star Joe Milton has already signed with the school. Three-star Kevin Doyle is also committed.
Thankful to announce that I have received an offer and am committing to the Michigan Wolverines. Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream!! #GoBlue 〽️ (PWO) pic.twitter.com/h3vwE5lc1p

Some recruiting experts are pretty impressed with Wittwer. 247’s Allen Trieu is a fan of Michigan’s new pick-up.

It is unlikely that he’ll ever be a huge factor on the field for Michigan. However, we just saw a walk-on quarterback with the Heisman, so never say never.
