Michigan football apparently now has its own challenge coin.
Jim Harbaugh is about to take the podium at Big Ten Media Days, but it looks like he's already shown the media a little something new the Wolverines will be doing this year.
Michigan now appears to have a 'challenge coin' for its program - which you can see below.
Challenge coins are usually associated with the military, but they can be used for many different types of groups of organizations. Here's more about challenge coins, per Mental Floss:
There are many examples of traditions that build camaraderie in the military, but few are as well-respected as the practice of carrying a challenge coin—a small medallion or token that signifies a person is a member of an organization. Even though challenge coins have broken into the civilian population, they're still a bit of a mystery for those outside the armed forces.
Michigan's challenge coin has the team's helmet on one side, with a border that reads "The Winningest Program In College Football History." The other side has the Block M logo.
Clearly, it's an attempt to build camaraderie within the program.
What do you think, Michigan fans?
