The Michigan football team is having a movie night sometime soon. The Wolverines will watch American Sniper, the biopic of the deadliest sniper in U.S. military history, Chris Kyle, played by Bradley Cooper.
The film got good reviews and did incredibly well at the box office. Some, though, were offended by it because of Kyle's reported "anti-Muslim" actions. Some of those offended people attend the University of Michigan.
Michigan was planning on holding a free screening of the film on campus, but canceled the showing after a "group of about 300 students signed a letter which stated that 'Middle Eastern characters in the film are not lent an ounce of humanity and watching this movie is provocative and unsafe to [Middle Eastern and North African] and Muslim students who are too often reminded of how little the media and the world values their lives.'”
Jim Harbaugh does not care if you are offended by the film.
