Michigan Former 5-Star RB Derrick Green To Transfer, Could Be Florida-Bound

Derrick Green, a former five-star recruit, has been granted his release from Michigan and will be transferring, per College Football Talk

The 5-foot-11, 240-pound running back out of Virginia was one of top recruits in the country in 2013. He totaled 898 rushing yards and seven touchdowns during his three seasons in Ann Arbor, Mich., but had his least-productive season in Jim Harbaugh's first year leading the program this past fall.

Green is expected to be a graduate transfer and will be eligible to play right away next season. It looks like he could be Florida-bound. The former top recruit recently followed pretty much every coach on Jim McElwain's staff on Twitter. The Gators have a need at running back with the departure of Kelvin Taylor to the NFL.

Green will be one of the most-talented graduate transfers on the market and should be pursued quite heavily by a number of Power 5 programs.
