Michigan G Derrick Walton Is Two Rebounds Away From A Major Milestone

Michigan point guard Derrick Walton is in the middle of an outstanding senior season.

Walton is averaging 14.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game while shooting 44 percent from three-point range and 90 percent from the foul line. He is a prime candidate to be named first team All-Big Ten.

Walton, a contributor from his first day on campus, is just two rebounds away from making Wolverine history. He will become the first Michigan player to score 1,000 points, grab 500 boards and dish out 400 assists.

Undoubtedly, Walton will reach this benchmark in Michigan's next game at Wisconsin on Thursday.

A win would push the team's record to 17-9 overall and do wonders for its NCAA resume.
