Michigan-Illinois Will Officially Tip Off At 12:20 P.M. Despite Wolverines' Travel Issues

Michigan-Illinois will be played as scheduled, despite the Wolverines' hectic travel schedule.

Yesterday, the Michigan basketball team's arrival in Washington, D.C. for the Big Ten Tournament was delayed. The reason? The team's plane skidded off the runway in Ann Arbor after an aborted takeoff.

After the Wolverines announced they would be staying in Michigan an extra night and arriving in D.C. Thursday morning, there was speculation that the team's noon tip-off time against Illinois would be changed.

It won't be. The Wolverines and Illini will play at 12:20 p.m. as expected, it was just confirmed by the Big Ten.

Michigan is 20-11 and looks to be a lock for the NCAA Tournament, so a loss to Illinois might not be devastating. Still, many Michigan fans will feel like their team got screwed over here.

OddsShark projects a narrow Michigan win today, with the Maize and Blue moving on to face top-seeded Purdue on Friday.
