Winovich says he was hit by an OSU fan following last year's rivalry game versus the Buckeyes.

Ohio State fans rushed the field after the Buckeyes' thrilling win over Michigan last season, and according to Michigan linebacker Chase Winovich, a couple of fans went over the line in their celebration, per MLive.com.

One such fan hit Winovich straight in the chest as he tried to make his way off the field.

Per MLive.com:

"It just really bugged me," Winovich said ahead of Saturday's game against Ohio State (noon, FOX). "What really got me, personally, was the storming of the field. The fan -- that I still don't know who it was -- that shot the double bird at me. And the other fan that tried to take me out. It's crazy."

"I was just looking at him, then this other roly-poly fan kind of ran into me," Winovich said. "I hit him subsequently, but he hit me in the chest and he went down. It was probably one of the worst injuries I've sustained in my Michigan career here: from a fan and their lack of being able to protect the opposing team's players."

Winovich added that police were stationed near the goalposts to protect them from being torn down, leaving some of the players vulnerable to aggressive and rowdy fans. He said the incident left him "bitter" toward Ohio State.

Winovich will have an ample opportunity for some vengeance against the Buckeyes this Saturday. The game kicks off at noon E.T.
