Michigan Reportedly Expected To Hire Philadelphia Eagles Assistant For Wolverines' DBs Coach

Michigan's football program lost its defensive backs coach to an NFC East team this offseason. The Wolverines will reportedly be hiring an NFC East assistant coach to replace him. 

According to Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post, Michigan is set to hire Philadelphia Eagles' assistant linebackers coach Brian Smith. 

Michigan defensive backs coach Greg Jackson left for a position with the Dallas Cowboys earlier this offseason

Smith has been with the Eagles for just one season. He previously coached on the New York Jets' staff from 2007-14.

The 36-year-old coach played at UMass and was a three-year starter at defensive back.
