Michigan Star Rashan Gary Has Big Plans For The 2018 Season

Rashan Gary crushes Hayden Moore.

Michigan defensive tackle Rashan Gary should be one of the top players in the country this fall. He also should be a top-five pick in next year's NFL Draft.

That doesn't seem to be what is motivating Gary though. The former five-star recruit has a major team goal on his mind.

Speaking with reporters this weekend, Gary made it clear he is after one thing: a national championship.

A national title is something Gary says he has intended to bring to Ann Arbor. This might be his last year to do it if he turns pro.

Michigan should be ranked in the top-15 preseason. The Wolverines have a ton of talent returning on defense and now seem to have finally settled on a quarterback with the arrival of Shea Patterson.

However, like any team in the Big Ten East, the margin of error for Michigan is slim. The Wolverines have to play at Michigan State and Ohio State, plus a non-conference season-opener at Notre Dame.

Did we mention Michigan also has to play Penn State and Wisconsin? Sure, both games are at home, but those are two elite teams.

If Gary accomplishes his goal of winning a national championship, he and his teammates will have truly run the gauntlet to get it done.
