A promising 2018 season for Michigan ended poorly on Saturday in the team's 41-15 loss to Florida in the Peach Bowl. Several star players had already declared for the 2019 NFL Draft, and now DL Chase Winovich has left as well.

On Sunday, Winovich published a heartfelt letter to Wolverines fans on his Instagram account, thanking everyone for the support and appreciation.

Thank you for the outpouring of love and appreciation, despite things not going our way today. When I said I found something in Michigan worth dying for, I meant it. I can’t thank my teammates, the fans, and my coaches enough. Through thick and thin, we ride! Go Blue!

Winovich had seven tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a sack in the blowout loss to Florida.

Winovich finishes his career at Michigan with 166 tackles, 43.0 tackles for loss, 18.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in four years.

He earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors in 2017 and 2018.

Tankathon projects Winovich as a third-round draft pick by the Atlanta Falcons.
